Time
Time is the most expensive commodity in our world.
If you ever want anything you do to be done right, two things are always essential.
Time and Patience.
As the world turns more into instant gratification with answers at the cusp of our fingertips with search engines, AI, or social media, it becomes harder to have more patience to get the answers we want for the problems we face. Then you even ask, should I spend x amount of time on something when the return is naturally determined by your effort. What is worth that time?
As I have gotten older, I feel the weight of the clock ticking practically everyday. It almost feels like a race to a finish line that doesn't exist. Chores that never end, work the piles up no matter how much you finish, squeezing in gym time during your day before your to tired to go. And casting a large ominous shadow overhead - Time.

Am I spending it right? Have I used it with no regrets?
Endeavor
There is so much I want to try and accomplish before my time is up. Writing a blog where I can free up my mind and be creative, starting YouTube, moving out before rental prices go even higher in NYC, travel the world etc. It becomes difficult to balance my ambitions with the many responsibilities that spontaneously pop up as I get older.
I wonder do I have enough time and patience to achieve my dreams? My constant battle against the finite clock in my life against what I have always envisioned myself to be.
I do truly believe whatever you were meant to have you will have it. With determination and good work mixed in with simply having patience, I feel that is the secret sauce to success. Always to keep in mind though, patience and time are both expensive and should be used wisely.
Differing Perspectives
On the flip side of ambition, sometimes I get so tired with the need to always feel like I am accomplishing something. And if I didn't accomplish something it feels as though I wasted my time relaxing or am just plain lazy. Taking a break feels like an injustice to yourself. Maybe its the American/New York way of constantly having to be in the rat race; the race against time and even your humanity to be successful.
Aside from even doing anything, time has a variance in value depending on what you do. Should I either watch Netflix for the next hour or go to the gym. We all know going to the gym is better for you in probably every conceivable way possible. Yet its the decision that requires the most motivation and discipline.
Personally, I feel we should bring the Spanish tradition of siestas into American life. Taking a mid day nap to reset would be perfect to recognize your time is valuable when you spend it recharging.

Conclusive Note
Some serious thoughts listed here gearing more towards a negative undertone. However unintentional, I guess this is how I see Time's presence in my life right now. Trying to balance your ambitions, responsibilities, and energy is an all consuming process that I hope I become better at 😊.
Hope you all had a great week!
